Wow, Jill, what a lovely story. I also loved seeing her picture — a face I haven’t seen for decades. I remember your Bubbie fondly and especially have the memory of eating her delicious gefilte fish — the only gefilte fish I’ve ever liked!
Jill, this is a beautiful tribute to a woman who led with grit, grace, and so much heart. Your Bubbie’s legacy shines through every word, and clearly through you too.

I also ate the gefilte fish for a very short time, and then didn’t. Glad to bring back a memory. By the way, have not had ANY gefilte fish since.
what a beautiful tribute, Jill. I love it.

Thank you George. Grit and grace are perfect descriptors
Your Bubbie is not unlike my Amma, who also lived into her mid-nineties, though she died only a few years ago.
They (or least mine) came with strong personality!
Same with mine.
I’m sure you didn’t need to keep up with eating the fish heads. This story of your Bubbie celebrates her determination and kindness 🌹
