Wow, Jill, what a lovely story. I also loved seeing her picture — a face I haven’t seen for decades. I remember your Bubbie fondly and especially have the memory of eating her delicious gefilte fish — the only gefilte fish I’ve ever liked!

I also ate the gefilte fish for a very short time, and then didn’t. Glad to bring back a memory. By the way, have not had ANY gefilte fish since.

Your Bubbie is not unlike my Amma, who also lived into her mid-nineties, though she died only a few years ago.
